Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform
What is the Young Artist Platform Award?
Every year Oxford Lieder grants Young Artist Awards to two or three outstanding duos, all enrolled on post-graduate courses at the leading UK conservatoires and already at the outset of major careers. As part of the Award these Young Artists are each given recitals at the Oxford Lieder Festival, as well as a number of paid song recital engagements around the country. This year's auditions have already been held; information on the 2014 auditions will be availble here in September 2013. To find out about engaging the Oxford Lieder Young Artists, please scroll to the bottom of this page.

Oxford Lieder is currently offering sponsorship to ten music clubs, societies or festivals who wish to offer recitals to these exceptional young musicians. Oxford Lieder will support 50% of the fee of £300 per musician (i.e. the total fee for the concert will be £600, of which the music club will be expected to pay only £300, as well as reasonable expenses). Oxford Lieder will also endeavour to support the promotion of the concert. On occasion we may be able to provide and subsidise a renowned speaker for a pre-concert talk. We can provide texts and translations, as well as programme notes for some works, free of charge. We will also offer web space, if the music club does not have its own site, and will ensure that any of our supporters in the area are aware of the concert. We will liaise with the chosen artists to help them develop interesting and attractive programmes, especially bearing in mind that music club audiences often have little experience of song recitals; our Young Artists were selected based on their communication and engagement skills as well as their superb musicianship.
Any club or society interested in being involved should email Laura (laura@oxfordlieder.co.uk) or call 07790 956657 with details of the club, including as much information as possible on your venue (incl. the piano), how many concerts take place each year (and when), and the history of the club, especially with regards to typical programming.
The Oxford Lieder Scholarship is generously supported by Trufflehunter, Jesus College & the Kohn Foundation and the Jean Meikle Trust. Anyone interested in adding further support for the Young Artist Platform should contact development@oxfordlieder.co.uk.
